The car park immediately to the front of the studio is reserved for the residents of Bishop Crewe House only, therefore we respectfully request that you do not park here.
All of Daventry’s car parks offer free parking and are easily accessible by foot. Walking distance even from the furthest car park is less than 5 minutes. Do watch out for timings though as some short stay carparks impose restrictions. We recommend that you use The Old Gasworks which is the largest long stay car park.
Yes, our studio is wheelchair accessible from street level and is all on a single floor. Our toilet facilities however are a little snug and restricting.
We currently only allow persons over the age of 14 into our studio. Only persons over the age of 18 are allowed into the tattooing area, and 14 and over into our piercing room. If you have young children please make alternative arrangements for their care during your tattoo or piercing as they will not be able to attend with you.
Yes we do take on cover ups. Each pre-existing tattoo requires an independent assessment for us to establish size, placement, pigments used and whether any scarring may have occurred. We can then make a professional judgement on the best way to achieve a cover up. Some flexibility and compromise may be required as to avoid any unrealistic expectations. It is our duty to advise on the best way to cover or disguise an existing tattoo whilst providing you with a tattoo you’ll love to wear forever.
Although widely available and you may find that other artists use these products, we unfortunately do not. As some of these creams are unregulated and come from overseas, we cannot ensure the ingredients and the possible interactions with the pigments and process butters used during the tattooing process, as well as any potential allergic reactions. Numbing creams also act as vascular restrictors which restrict the blood flow to the area therefore impeding the healing process. Why we understand that tattoos can be scary and sometimes painful, we do our best to make you comfortable and offer a pleasant as possible experience.
As with cover ups, we individually assess each circumstance. Most scarring can be tattooed over as long as the scarring is fully healed. We like to see the scarring in person prior to committing to booking.
No unfortunately not. Under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969 it is against the law to tattoo any persons under the age of 18.
Yes, we do. Our artists will provide you with a quotation for a tattoo based on your discussions. A calculation for the deposit amount will be made based on the duration of the appointment, the deposit is then paid directly to the artist upon their request.
As a custom tattoo studio, we would never directly replicate another tattoo artists design. Instead we would use their reference as inspiration to design a unique piece specifically for you. There are some exceptions to this rule such as realism concepts, portraiture reference, Disney, album artwork etc. If you are unsure, please do ask.
All our artists are lucky enough to be incredibly busy. They generally spend their day tattooing and then evening drawing and responding to emails. This allows for very little free time; therefore, our artists only draw to appointment. This means that they only draw designs for clients who have discussed ideas and have made a booking, securing the appointment with a deposit. All our artists frequently post available designs that can be booked at any point, feel free to check out our social media to view recent works and available designs.
You may bring a friend or family member along for moral support if it is your first tattoo or you are of a nervous disposition, however, please do not bring an entourage as we do not have the space within the work rooms and space in our waiting area is limited. Also having too much hustle and bustle within the studio can be very distracting to the artists. On occasions it may not be possible to have a companion due to furniture arrangements. Any final decisions are made by the artist and/or the studio manager.
You should avoid prolonged exposure to water and you should not submerge your tattoo in the bath or go swimming for approximately 2 weeks or until your tattoo is fully healed if longer than this. We recommend that you avoid sun exposure including sun beds for approximately 4 weeks. After this we recommend that factor 50 is applied whilst in the sun as UV light can fade your tattoo.
Whilst our artists are all for individualism and self-expression, they will not tattoo anything they deem to be racist, homophobic, xenophobic or images with offensive content or wording. This is addressed on a case by case basis, ultimately discretion lies with each individual artist.
No, in a short answer, however there are restrictions;
Highly visible tattoos – these include areas such as fingers, hands, face and necks. We take each booking on a case by case basis. Where we understand that your body is your choice, we have a duty of care to discuss any potential consequences with regards to employment and social status. We like to ensure you are fully happy and understanding of any potential implications on clearly visible tattoos in order to make an informed decision.
Some areas of the body can be incredibly difficult to tattoo, or due to the nature of the skin a tattoo may not heal or age well. Our artists will advise you on this.
Tattoo placement can be key to a design, we try our best to ensure our clients feel relaxed and comfortable. We ask for artists and clients alike to behave in a manner to not make anyone feel exposed or uncomfortable.
We operate a no tolerance policy.
It is our duty to provide a safe environment for our clients, artists, associates and employees of Nevermore Tattoo Parlour. We aim to provide a pleasant, comfortable and inclusive environment for all. Please listen to the safety advise offered by any of the above. Whilst we appreciate everyone is entitled to individual opinions and self-expression, abuse, bad language, derogatory remarks and offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.
